Hoppe New Orleans M1610/3965N Wide Plate Handle Sets
Measure across your plate. If it reads about 2-3/16 inches (55mm) with scalloped ends, and the lever widens into a flat, pointed blade, you have the Hoppe New Orleans M1610/3965N, the New Orleans lever (M1610) on the 3965N wide traditional backplate. We stock the active set with the key cylinder in three finishes, and Hoppe makes inactive and fixed dummy sets on this plate that we can quote for you.
- If you lock the door with a key from outside, choose an active set in three finishes, from brushed chrome to rustic umber.
If your plate has a different shape or size, compare it with Hoppe New Orleans Contemporary M1610/216N Handle Sets and Hoppe New Orleans Traditional M1610/374N Handle Sets. If the key sits above the lever, you have an HLS7 and need a set from Hoppe HLS7 Door Handle Sets. Every other HLS9000 style is in Hoppe HLS9000 Door Handle Sets.

About Hoppe New Orleans M1610/3965N Handle Sets
The 3965N is Hoppe's widest plate, and with the New Orleans lever it gives a front door a heavier look. You fit it to a door with a Hoppe HLS9000 multipoint lock, with the key cylinder below the lever. We stock the active set with the key cylinder in three finishes.
Measuring Your New Orleans Set
- Lay a tape across the outside plate at its widest point. The 3965N plate measures 2-3/16 inches (55mm).
- Measure the plate from top to bottom. You should read 10 inches (255mm).
- Measure from the center of the lever spindle to the center of the key cylinder or thumbturn. Every HLS9000 set reads 3-5/8 inches (92mm).
- Measure the thickness of the door at its edge. The sets here suit a 1-3/4 inch door.
Matching Both Doors of a Pair
Hoppe makes inactive and fixed dummy New Orleans sets on this plate as well. If you need one we do not list, send us the finish and we will quote it.
Before Ordering
- Confirm the lever shape and the plate shape against the description at the top of this page.
- Check that the key sits below the lever. If it sits above, you have an HLS7.
- Measure the plate, the lever to key spacing and the door thickness, and compare them with the figures above.
- Note whether the door locks with a key, locks from inside with a thumbturn, or never opens from its lever.
- Read the availability note on the product page. Special order sets take 3 to 4 weeks, and some are non-returnable.
Why Buy From Multipoint Door Hardware?
- We list every Hoppe number as its own product, so the finish, function and cylinder you order are the ones you receive.
- We sell Hoppe multipoint locks and gears as well, so you can replace a worn lock and its handles in one order.
- Send photos through our Identify My Part form and we will confirm the set before you order.
