About Marvin
Marvin is a family-owned window and door maker. George Marvin started the Marvin Lumber and Cedar Company in Warroad, Minnesota, in 1912, and the fourth generation of the family leads it today.
Ashland built the concealed multipoint lock that Marvin fitted to its Ultimate inswing and outswing French doors from January 2000, and Ashland made that lock for Marvin alone. The Traditional handle sets are Marvin's own.
Marvin Parts We Carry
- Marvin Door Locks has the active concealed multipoint lock with a 2-3/8 inch (60mm) backset, the single point lock and its faceplate, and four latch and deadbolt strikes.
- For handles, Marvin Door Handles carries the Traditional active and inactive sets in polished brass and matte black, with the thumbturn push nut and the set screw.
- You can buy the V200 hinge in three finishes and the 147 hinge in five on the Marvin Adjustable Hinges page. The V200 fits Ultimate French doors from 2012 on, and the 147 fits Ultimate inswing French doors from 1993 to 1996.
Which Marvin Hardware Do You Have?
Open the door and measure from the edge of the panel to the center of the handle spindle. Marvin Ultimate doors read 2-3/8 inches (60mm).
- The panel you use every day, with the key or thumbturn, carries the active lock.
- A single door that locks only at the handle, with no rods to the head and sill, has the single point lock.
- The Traditional handle plate measures 10-1/8 by 1-7/8 inches with fully rounded ends, and the key sits above the lever.
- On the hinges, Phillips screws mean the 147 and hex screws mean the V200. If your hinges have a stepped jamb leaf, you replace every hinge on that panel with the new V200.
Before Ordering
- Measure the backset from the panel edge to the center of the spindle.
- Note which panel you are working on, the one you open or the one you leave shut.
- Keep your shootbolt rods. The locks come without them, so you reuse the rods in your door.
- For hinges, count them on the panel and check the screw heads.
- Several Marvin parts are special order and non-returnable, so check the listing before you order.
