Hoppe HLS9000 Door Handle Sets

Look at your outside handle. On a Hoppe HLS9000 door the key sits below the lever, 3-5/8 inches (92mm) under it. Find your lever below, then pick the plate that matches the one on your door.

  • If your lever dips near the plate and sweeps out to a curled tip, you have a Munchen (M112PL), made on the 216N, 374N and 3965N backplates.
  • If it runs straight out to a rounded, club-shaped end, you have a Verona (M151), in brass on the 216N or 3965N backplate, or the stainless E1800F/353.
  • If it is a straight square bar on a square-ended plate, you have a Dallas (M1643/2161N).
  • If it narrows near the plate and widens into a flat, pointed blade, you have a New Orleans (M1610). A teardrop lever is a Toronto (M1020).
  • If it is slim and curves upward to a pointed tip, you have a Rodos (M1603/216N). A slim round lever whose tip turns back toward the door is an Atlanta (M1530/216N).
  • If the levers and plates are silver aluminum, you have a London (113L/2246) or a Frankfurt (117L/2246).

If the key sits above the lever, you have an HLS7, and its sets are in Hoppe HLS7 Door Handle Sets.

About Hoppe HLS9000 Door Handle Sets

The HLS9000 is the Hoppe multipoint system on most American French and entry doors. Every HLS9000 handle set uses the same layout: a euro profile key cylinder 3-5/8 inches (92mm) below the lever and backplate screws 7-7/8 inches (200mm) apart. That lets you change style or plate without new holes in the door. We list each style on each plate as its own page, and inside each page you will find the active, inactive and fixed dummy sets.

Reading Your Plate

  • A narrow plate with straight sides and rounded ends, 1-7/32 inches (31mm) wide, is the 216N.
  • A plate with scalloped ends, 1-13/32 inches (35.6mm) wide, is the 374N.
  • A plate with scalloped ends, 2-3/16 inches (55mm) wide and 10 inches (255mm) tall, is the 3965N.
  • A square-ended plate 1-1/2 inches (38mm) wide carries the Dallas, and a slim square-ended aluminum plate carries the London and Frankfurt.

Active, Inactive or Fixed Dummy?

Fit an active set to the door you lock with a key. Fit an inactive set to the second door of a pair if you lock it from inside with a thumbturn. Fit a fixed dummy set if that door never opens from its lever and stays shut on flush bolts.

Before Ordering

  • Check that the key sits below the lever on your door.
  • Match the lever shape, then measure the plate width and the lever to key spacing.
  • Measure your door at its edge. Most sets suit a 1-3/4 inch door, and a few suit 2-1/4 inches.
  • Read the availability note on the product page before you order a special order set.

Why Buy From Multipoint Door Hardware?

  • We list every Hoppe number as its own product, sorted by style and plate.
  • We sell the Hoppe multipoint locks these handles drive, so you can replace both in one order.
  • Send photos through our Identify My Part form and we will confirm the set before you order.

FAQ's About Hoppe HLS9000 Door Handle Sets

Will any HLS9000 handle set fit my door?

Any set on this page fits the same holes, because every HLS9000 set uses 92mm from lever to key and screws 200mm apart. Match the plate size if you want to cover the marks the old plate left.

Do the sets come with a key cylinder?

Most active sets come with a 90 degree euro cylinder on the Schlage SC1 keyway. Some finishes also come without one, for when you keep your old cylinder.

What is the difference between HLS9000 and HLS7 handle sets?

HLS9000 puts the key below the lever in a euro cylinder. HLS7 puts a US cylinder above the lever in a raised housing. The two do not swap.

Which door thickness do the sets fit?

Most fit a 1-3/4 inch door. The few that fit a 2-1/4 inch door say so in their title.

My lever droops. Do I need a new set?

Check the set screw in the neck of the lever first. If it has worked loose, you will feel the lever slip on the spindle, and a hex wrench cures it. If the lever is tight on the spindle and still droops, send us photos and we will tell you whether the handle or the lock needs replacing.

Are Hoppe handle sets handed?

No. Every set on this page fits a left or right hand door.

How do I identify my Hoppe handle set?

Photograph both faces of the door with the handles on, so we can see the lever and the ends of the plates. Measure the plate width and the distance from the center of the lever to the center of the key. Send it through our Identify My Part form, or call us, and we will confirm the set before you order.
