Hoppe HLS7 Rodos M1603/2167N Door Handle Sets
Look at the outside of your door. If the key sits above the lever in a raised housing that is part of the plate, you have a Hoppe HLS7, and these Rodos M1603/2167N sets fit it. The plates are 1-1/2 inches (38mm) wide and 10 inches (254mm) tall, and Hoppe forges each one in a single piece with the cylinder housing, so you will see no seam around the key. Every set is non-handed.
- If you lock the door with a key from outside, choose an active set in brushed chrome, oil rubbed brass or satin nickel. Each comes with its US key cylinder.
- If the door is the second of a pair and you lock it from inside with a thumbturn, choose an inactive set. The thumbturn is built into the inside plate.
- If your door is 2-1/4 inches thick, choose the brushed chrome active or inactive set marked 2-1/4 inch door.
If the key sits below the lever, you have an HLS9000, and its sets are in Hoppe HLS9000 Door Handle Sets. The HLS7 locks are in Hoppe HLS7 Multipoint Door Locks.

View full detailsAbout Hoppe HLS7 Door Handle Sets
The HLS7 is the Hoppe multipoint system built around a US cylinder with a tailpiece, set above the lever. Hoppe forges the plate and the cylinder housing in one piece, and the levers push onto the spindle with its Quick-Fit connection, so there are no set screws. The cylinder takes the Schlage SC1 keyway, which means a locksmith can key it alike with the Schlage locks in the rest of the house.
Measuring Your HLS7 Set
- Lay a tape across the outside plate. It measures 1-1/2 inches (38mm).
- Measure the plate from top to bottom. You should read 10 inches (254mm).
- Measure from the center of the lever spindle to the center of the key cylinder above it. You should read 3-5/8 inches (92mm).
- Measure the door at its edge. The standard sets suit 1-3/4 inches, and two brushed chrome sets suit 2-1/4 inches.
How an HLS7 Door Locks
You turn the thumbturn to horizontal and lift the lever, and the locking points go out. When you push the inside lever down, the latch, deadbolt and locking points all retract and the thumbturn swings back to vertical on its own.
Before Ordering
- Check that the key sits above the lever in a raised housing.
- Measure the door thickness at its edge.
- Note whether the door locks with a key or from inside with a thumbturn only.
- Read the availability note on the product page. Some sets are special order and non-returnable.
Why Buy From Multipoint Door Hardware?
- We sell the HLS7 gears and extensions as well, so you can replace the lock and its handles in one order.
- We list every Hoppe number as its own product, so the finish and function you order are the ones you receive.
- Send photos through our Identify My Part form and we will confirm the set before you order.
FAQ's About Hoppe HLS7 Door Handle Sets
Will an HLS9000 handle set fit my HLS7 door?
No. HLS9000 puts the key below the lever and HLS7 puts it above, so the cylinder hole lands in the wrong place.
Can I key the cylinder to match my other doors?
Usually. The HLS7 cylinder takes the Schlage SC1 keyway, so a locksmith can key it alike with your other Schlage locks.
What is the 2-1/4 inch active set for?
Thicker doors. The brushed chrome set marked 2-1/4 inch door carries two offset spindles, and Kawneer fits it to its 2-1/4 inch doors with an offset lock.
Why does my thumbturn spin back when I open the door?
That is how the HLS7 works. When you push the inside lever down, every locking point retracts and the thumbturn returns to vertical on its own. If it stays horizontal after you open the door, send us photos.
Are HLS7 handle sets handed?
No. You can fit the same set to a left or right hand door.
Can I return an HLS7 set?
Not if the product page marks it non-returnable. Those are special order sets, so check the door thickness and finish first.
How do I identify my HLS7 handle set?
Photograph both faces of the door with the handles on, so we can see the lever and the ends of the plates. Measure the plate width and the distance from the center of the lever to the center of the key above the lever. Send it through our Identify My Part form, or call us, and we will confirm the set before you order.
