Roto New Style Multipoint Gearbox with a 45mm Backset

Unscrew the gearbox faceplate on your door edge and ease the case out far enough to see the joints above and below it. Rows of teeth gripping the rods mean you have the current Roto style, and this gearbox connects to them. Pins at the joints, or a faceplate of 13-3/8 inches, mean an older Roto. Roto no longer makes the older styles, but we can still supply a replacement. Contact us with photos of the door edge and we will match one.

Lift the lever and you throw the deadbolt and drive the locking points at the top and bottom of the door into their keepers. Turn the key or thumbturn to hold them there, and push the lever down to pull everything back. You can fit it to a Roto roller lock or a tongue lock, because you keep the rods and locking points and change only the case.

Measure the backset from the edge of the door to the center of the lever spindle before you order. If you read 35mm, you need the 35mm gearbox instead.

  • Backset: 1-3/4" (45mm), from the edge of the door to the center of the lever spindle
  • Handle to key cylinder: 3-5/8" (92mm), from the center of the lever spindle to the center of the cylinder
  • Faceplate length: 15-3/4" (400mm), the gearbox section end to end
  • Faceplate width: 5/8" (16mm)
  • Faceplate finish: silver
  • Rod joints: teeth at the top and bottom of the case. It does not connect to the older pin style
  • Locking: latch and deadbolt in the case. Lift the lever to throw the deadbolt and the top and bottom locking points, then lock with the key or thumbturn
  • Latch: reversible for a left or right hand door
  • Key cylinder: European profile, below the lever, not included
  • Fits: current style Roto roller and tongue multipoint locks
  • Included: the gearbox with its faceplate. Rods, locking points, handles, cylinder and strikes are not included
