Hoppe Roller Middle Extension, 27-3/16" (691mm)

This is the middle section of a Hoppe HLS9000 roller-shootbolt lock strip. It bridges the bottom gear and the top of the door and carries an adjustable roller into the jamb along the way.

A roller is an adjustable cam rather than a fixed bolt. It rides into a keeper on the jamb and a hex wrench turns it in or out, which is how you take up a door that has dropped or a weatherseal that has gone hard. Combined with a shootbolt driving vertically into the frame, you get the adjustability of a roller system and the pull-in strength of a bolt on the same strip.

Manual operation. Lifting the handle throws every locking point on the strip at once; the key throws the deadbolt separately.
