Hoppe Manual Shootbolt Gear, 1-3/8" (35mm) Backset with 1/2 Inch Deadbolt Throw and 20mm Faceplate

This is the bottom gear of a Hoppe HLS9000 manual shootbolt lock built on the wider 25/32 inch (20mm) faceplate. Faceplate width is the one measurement people skip, and it is the one that decides whether a gear drops into the mortise pocket at all: a 16mm gear will not fill a 20mm cutout and a 20mm gear will not fit a 16mm one. Measure the width of the steel plate along the edge of your door before ordering.

Shootbolts drive vertically into the head and sill of the frame instead of horizontally into the jamb. That is what stops a tall or heavy panel twisting, and it removes the two corners a pry bar would otherwise go for.
