Hoppe Inactive Mortise Flushbolt, 1-3/16" (30mm) Backset

A flushbolt is what holds the passive leaf of a French or double door pair shut. The lock body is mortised into the edge of that panel and worked by a small flip lever: flip it and one rod runs up into the head of the frame while another runs down into the sill, pinning the leaf so the active leaf's lock has something solid to latch into. Flip it back and both rods withdraw, and the pair opens to its full width.

This is the lock body for that job, in the 1-3/16" (30mm) backset.

The body is stainless steel with a flip lever on the door edge, and it is the part of a flushbolt that actually wears out. The rods almost never fail; the lever mechanism inside the case does. Replacing the body and keeping your existing rods is the normal repair.

Backset is what separates the three bodies in this range and they are not interchangeable. Measure yours, or measure the mortise in the panel, before you order. The rods and the guides are separate parts on every one of them.
