When a Hoppe multipoint lock stops working, the failure is almost always inside the gearbox rather than in the strip. The return spring breaks and the handle droops, or the gear cog teeth wear down and skip so the handle clicks instead of lifting. This replacement gear fixes both without disturbing the extensions, shootbolts or faceplate already fitted in your door.

This is the 35/92/25 configuration: 35mm (1-3/8") backset, 92mm (3-5/8") from the center of the handle to the center of the cylinder, and a full 1 inch (25mm) deadbolt throw. The 35mm backset turns up on narrower door stiles and French door panels; if your door measures 1-3/4 inches from edge to spindle center you need the 45mm version instead. Hoppe HLS9000 locks are found on doors by Weather Shield, Hurd, Jeld-Wen, Therma-Tru, Kolbe, Caradco, Peachtree, Crestline, Bilt Best and Pozzi, among others.

Notes

• Fits HLS9000 series locks with a 16mm (5/8") faceplate. It will not fit 20mm faceplate locks or single point locks.
• Includes the mis-handling device wedge above the deadbolt, so it replaces current production Hoppe gearboxes.
• Reversible for left or right swing doors. Handing is set during installation.
• Takes a Euro profile cylinder. It will not work with American style lock cylinders.
• Lock gear only. Faceplate, extensions, shootbolts, handle set and cylinder are not included.
• Works behind any locking point style: tongue, roller pin, roundbolt, swing hook or shootbolt.
• Handle height and tongue position live in the extensions, not the gear, so they do not affect fit.
