G-U Secury Europa Active Lock Gear, Euro Cylinder

The Secury Europa gear on its own, 900mm of faceplate with the lock case built into it. This is the middle section of the strip: the upper and lower extensions that carry the shootbolts bolt on above and below it and are sold separately.

Buy it this way when the gear has failed but the extensions, the bolts and the keeps in your jamb are all still sound. It is a fraction of the cost of a whole lock and it leaves the rest of the door alone.

Every one of these takes a European profile cylinder. Shine a light into the cylinder hole on your old lock: a plain figure-eight opening with nothing fitted inside is euro and this range suits. A metal insert with a slot across it takes an American tailpiece, and you want a different lock.

Picking your backset

Measure from the edge of the door to the center of the square hole the handle spindle passes through. Four sizes here, 35 to 60mm, and they are separate parts rather than adjustments.

Everything else is common across them: 900mm (35.43 inch) faceplate, 16mm (5/8 inch) wide, with the cylinder 3-5/8 inches from the handle.

One thing to check before ordering. If the gearbox currently in your door has no deadbolt, call us on 727-386-4629 first. Not every Europa gear was built the same way and the wrong one will not drive what your strip expects.
